A survey shows women consider men who eat meat to be more manly.
Vegetarian men are seen as wimps and less macho - even by women who do not eat meat themselves.
Researchers (in England) gave hundreds of young men and women descriptions of fictional students varying only according to diet, and asked them to rate aspects of their personalities.
The vegetarian characters were seen as being more virtuous.
But, men who do not eat meat were also viewed as less masculine than the others - even by vegetarians.

Which American cities work the hardest to look hot?
The Daily Beast ranked the cities that claim the highest percentages of residents who belong to gyms, and ranked them, taking into account body mass figures and spending on "personal care"—at drugstores, salons, and other beauty centers.
The results:
1. San Francisco: Residents spend $111 monthly on personal care, 50.3% aren't overweight, and 20.4% are gym members.
2. Boston: At 23.2%, more belong to gyms than in SF, but residents only spend $106 each month on personal care
3. New York City: It may be home to Wall Street, but personal care spending is just $81 a month
4. Los Angeles: Some 39% of residents aren't overweight.
5. Hartford: Some 17.2% of residents belong to gyms.
6. Dallas: Personal care spending takes a jump, to $109 a month—but just 16.8% of residents are gym members.

A monkey attacked a woman in Reidsville, North Carolina after it got out of its cage.
The woman was watching the monkey for a friend. When she went to change the water it jumped over her head to escape.
She dashed to block the monkey's exit and it bit her on the hand and scratched on her face.
She was treated for her injuries and the monkey went to animal control.

According to a new survey, half of U.S. adults say people with a British accent are sophisticated and half say people with Big Apple accents are rude.
The survey also found that 49 percent say folks with a Southern accent are nice, 40 percent say those with a Midwestern accent are nice, almost 20 percent say those with a British accent or New England accent are nice, but only 7 percent say people with a New York City accent are nice.
Not shocking: people rate accents from their own area more positive.
For example, Midwesterners see those with a Midwest accent as well-educated, intelligent, nice and honest more frequently than they do people from the East, South or West.
